MEET THE CEO/FOUNDER
LaShawn Toney, Founder, Author, Advocate & Community Leader
LaShawn Toney is an author, speaker, autism advocate, and the Founder & CEO of Jorgia’s Impact Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering families impacted by autism through support, advocacy, and community connection.
Her journey into advocacy began with her daughter Jorgia, whose autism diagnosis transformed LaShawn’s life in profound ways. What started as a deeply personal journey navigating therapies, meltdowns, uncertainty, and emotional exhaustion became a calling to ensure that no parent walks this path alone.
LaShawn understands firsthand the silent battles autism parents face — the sleepless nights, the overwhelming appointments, the public misunderstandings, and the moments of feeling lost or helpless during meltdowns. Rather than allowing those experiences to define her, she turned her pain into purpose.
Through Jorgia’s Impact Foundation, LaShawn leads multiple community-driven programs including:
- Feed a Family Program
- Every Parent Needs a Break Program
- Steps for Hope Autism Awareness Walk
- Sibling Support Initiatives
- Community education and advocacy events
Under the motto “One Community. Many Pieces.”, she has built a growing movement centered around compassion, empowerment, and practical support for families navigating autism.
In addition to her nonprofit leadership, LaShawn is a published author of books including:
Her writing reflects raw honesty, resilience, and hope — offering encouragement to families who often feel unseen.
LaShawn is also the Host of the “Embrace the Impact” podcast and YouTube series, where she openly discusses the realities of autism parenting, advocacy, and healing through storytelling and shared experiences.
A visionary leader and community collaborator, she works alongside local organizations, businesses, schools, and media outlets to expand autism awareness and increase tangible support systems in her region.
Above all, LaShawn is a devoted wife and mother whose greatest mission is to create a world where neurodiverse children are understood, supported, and celebrated — and where parents feel strengthened rather than isolated.
Her work is not just about awareness.
It is about action.
It is about community.
It is about impact.
